Here are a couple of tips to help you make your site more customer friendly. These are things you can do any time of year, but with online shopping at an all time high, it makes sense to make sure your customers can complete their purchases easily, quickly and securely.
* Make it easy to buy
The checkout process should be clearly outlined and simple. Use major ecommerce vendors like PayPal or Google Checkout where lots of people already have accounts so they don't have to set up something special just to shop with you.
* Don't make registration difficult
This is something that personally annoys me when I shop online. If you really need the customer to register, don't make the process tedious. That's a good way to turn off a customer that can easily leave and go to another merchant's site.
Many consider these tips to be common sense, but sometimes business owners can get caught up in web design and forget some of the basics that make the customer experience more convenient.
